The Church of Scotland Guild
The Church of Scotland Guild was started in 1887 and today has 23,000 members in 900 Guilds across the UK. Both women and men are invited to join and will be made very welcome. The motto for the Guild is: "Whose I am and whom I serve" recognising our core mission to help people grow in relationship with Jesus, and serve him in our life.
The Guild in Bervie Church started in 1920 and, although there have been a couple of breaks it is still going strong! There are about 25 - 30 members. Meetings run from September to April annually. There are a variety of speakers, demonstrations, coffee mornings and fundraising for our church. We always welcome new members and you can be assured of friendship and many blessings.
The Guild in Gourdon was formed in 1950 and over the years has been a great way to worship God in friendly, comfortable surroundings. Meetings take place in Gourdon Mission Hall on a Thursday evening at 7pm and over the years there has been a wide variety of events, including bus outings, Christmas Parties, visiting friends and talks by a variety of interesting and informative speakers. The fees gathered by the group help the ABK Church, the Mission Hall and Guild Projects. The Gourdon Guild has been richly blessed and it is their prayer that they may continue as a small part of a very large organisation and they welcome anyone, lady or gentleman, to join them.
